In September my dear and closest friends are tying the knot in charming Santa Barbara. Me and the man decided to do a little pre-wedding weekend adventure, and indulge in my little love affair for luxury hotels. (As Oscar Wilde put it, “I can resist anything except temptation.”) Santa Barbara does not disappoint when it comes to beautiful resorts and creatively designed hotels. Below is a guide to some of my favorite. The running theme for le weekend wardrobe was of course, my classic nautical stripes. Because nothing says vacation like some Santa Barbara stripes.
First stop, the old world spanish flair of the Four Seasons Resort, The Biltmore.
Roaming the colorful grounds…
Lunch at the beautiful Bella Vista Restaurant Four Seasons, for Italian-inspired Cali cuisine.
The view in front of the hotel
Onto the Bacara Resort and Spa. A handsome Spanish style modern luxury resort with ocean view rooms and a sensational spa that I never wanted to leave.
Lovely lobby flowers
A room with a view
As always, excited to explore…
Warming up by the bedroom fireplace
Homemade Pecan Granola and fruit for breakfast
Dinner in Santa Barbara was at Ricardo Zarate’s ridiculously delicious, Blue Tavern, Santa Barbara.
My other top hotel picks:
The Canary Hotel; lovely city centre based boutique hotel. Booked it for the weekend wedding!
Belmond El Encanto; quiet and charming… ideal for lazy lounging by the pool and a peaceful lunch with a view.
