I have a thing for Hotel Lobbies. Often, the first place to greet you in a new city, a hotel lobby should set the tone for a magical stay. Ultimately, it’s not just how a hotel lobby looks, but rather, how it feels. A home away from home – equal parts cozy, captivating and unique to it’s destination. A tall order to live up to. And one in which the Hotel Normandie in Los Angeles, gets just right. I was instantly taken by the warm and seductive allure of the plush lobby. Light and airy, yet comfortable and cozy, it exudes a distinct charm that gets me rather giddy. It’s the little things that make it so magnetic – a towering antique bookshelf, a rustic fireplace, a grand piano, a vintage typewriter, velvet chaise lounges, buttery leather sofa’s and antique wooden tables. Even a petite stone pond with fish. Perfect pieces for this restored, 1920’s boutique hotel.
